Do I have to register to use this site?
You may use this site to search for college rentals, view their detailed information, and request information from property managers as much as you like without registering with CCO. However, registration is free and offers more benefits. You can sign up for e-mail notifications, newsletters, and save your preferred property listings to a cart for easy access when you return to the site.

How much does it cost to register?
Registration is free for all property managers, property contacts, and all other users. To register as a property manager, Click here. Parents, students, and all other property seekers, Click here to register.
How do I post a property listing?
You must be registered as a property contact, or property manager to post a property listing. Registration is absolutely free. Once you are registered, click the link that says "Post a Property." You may choose to post a 30, 60, or 90 day listing. You should choose to upload up to 8 photos, upload files containing floor plans, lease agreements, and a link to a virtual tour of this property if you have one. You are required to list at least one college, and can list up to three colleges associated with this property. You will need a credit card to purchase the posting. Your credit card will be charged according to the listing type that you have chosen. After your listing is posted, you may edit photos, floor plans, lease agreements, or any of the information associated with the property for as long as it is active.
What is the package plan? Can I post on 2 websites at once?
Yes! If you choose the 30-Day Package Plan, you get the most effective way to advertise Student Housing on the Web!

What types of properties can be posted?
You may post properties of any type. Apartments, Condos, Townhomes, Houses, Duplexes, or even a spare room are all valid property types.
I just want to lease my apartment for the summer/winter term. Can CCO help?
Yes, we can help! You do not need to actually be a property manager to advertise your listing with CCO. Anyone can post a listing. You will however need to register as a property manager in order to post your listing. Once you are registered you may post information about your property. If leasing for the summer/winter term, be sure to indicate this in the field titled "Lease terms". If you need to give further explanation, you may use the field titled "Description".
How do I receive e-mail notifications of properties posted around my College or University?
You must register with CCO to receive e-mail notifications of properties posted around your College or University. When registering, be sure to enter your preferred college and zip code. Also, select the check box that says "Sign me up for e-mail notifications". You may also choose to sign up for newsletters.
What is a cart, and why do I need one?
A cart can be used to keep track of properties that you are either interested in, or have requested more information about. You can add and remove property listings from your cart at any time that you choose, as long as those property listings are available. You can also request for links of these listings to be e-mailed to you at any time.

How can I contact someone about a property that I like?
Be sure to read all of the details about the property listing you are interested in. Read the lease agreement also if one is available. Click the link that says "Click here to request more information!". If you are registered and logged in, your name and e-mail address will be sent to the property manager automatically. If you are not logged in, or registered, you will be prompted with a form requesting your information to be sent to the property manager. You can also email listings you are interested in to parents, family, friends, or future roommates. Look at the bottom of the listing for the field that says "EMAIL A LINK TO THIS PROPERTY:".
Can I post nearby properties to community colleges, night schools grad schools, or housing near public schools?
Yes. Absolutely!
Anyone on the internet can find your property by zip code or School!
You can post properties of any type, near any school, at any location. Since most people buy houses based upon school districts, this is the fastest way to list and advertise property that you would like to sell or lease. If you have previously registered with CollegeRentHouses.com, then you are automatically registered with CollegeCribsOnline. Both College Rent Houses and College Cribs Online, LLC are divisions of Direct Net Real Estate, LP.
How do I send properties I like to other people?
You can email listings to parents, family, friends, or future roommates. Look at the bottom of the listing for the field that says "EMAIL A LINK TO THIS PROPERTY:".
Why does Internet Explorer say, "This page contains both secure and non-secure items. Do you want to display the non-secure items?"
This error message is an indication that the Web site contains both secure and non-secure items. The non secure items are the Google adds at the bottom of each page. Click "Yes" to download the non-secure items with the secure items, or "No" to display only the secure items.
One work around for IE 7 users who want to skip closing the pop-up message is set your browser to display mixed content. Steps listed below:
Tools-> Internet Options-> Security-> Custom Level-> Miscellaneous-> Display Mixed Content-> Check Enable-> Click OK->
Click OK-> Close IE and restart IE.
I am not able to view any of the floor plans or lease agreements that are uploaded to this site. Why?
You can configure your web browser to open PDF files either in the browser window or in a separate Adobe Acrobat window. To configure the browser, you must have Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader installed. Acrobat and Adobe Reader include ActiveX plug-in files that allow you to use Microsoft Internet Explorer or America Online (AOL) to view PDF files on Windows. Click here to visit Adobe Acrobat and follow the steps to configure your browser to open PDF files within the browser window.
